Introduction to Brain Dumps
As mentioned in my introduction to blog posts. I will be attempting to collect as much content as possible on how my decisions are made, how thoughts and concepts arise, and how concepts are developed as my thesis is created, in order to be able to analyze the impact will have and the transformation that these will undergo before making it (or being cut from) the final product.
List Of Brain Dump Concepts:
Ideas in Infancy: Here is a place where all ideas that I am thinking of adapting into my blog are written down for the first time. It is where I go through a brainstorm process of how these ideas can be implemented and created, in addition to evaluating whether these are worth adding to my website or Final Thesis.
Thought Fragments: Here is where I place concepts that are very vague in my mind, but that I recognize that could become Ideas in Infancy if I choose to explore them further.
What I did this Week: A list of things that I have done throughout the week that relate to my thesis in some way.
On the Drawing Board: Future Work. Things I want to do in the near future to advance my project.
Additional Thoughts/Open Brain Storm: A place for any additional brainstorm or additional thoughts about the week.
Brain Dumps Week 1&2: December 1- December 15
Ideas in Infancy:
For Blogs:
Don't Reinvent The Wheel - If I find that someone has already done a great job explaining a concept before me, and if I believe that it would be redundant to rewrite it or if I believe that there isn't a meaningful contribution that I can make (or would like to make) to add to the concept, I will reference them directly as opposed to creating duplicate content about the same thing.
Example: Although it occurred to me that making Brain Dumps could be a good way for me to catalog and develop my ideas, I know it is already a concept and that there are people that already do this.
From just a quick google search, I had already found an article that had all the amount of information I needed on brain dumping: What it is, and how to do it.
Because of this, when I introduce brain dumping, instead of going over the tenants of brain dumping and how to do it, I will only reference what's necessary to introduce the concept. With that being said, if a reader wished to know more about brain dumping or how to do it themselves, referencing where I obtained my information through a link will still enable them to do so.
